| Synchronizing the vision and growth of the IT Sector in the state, the Government of West Bengal has adopted measures to develop state-of-the-art IT infrastructure throughout the state, to catalyze the availability of quality infrastructure for the IT/ ITeS industries in the state & to create business opportunities at different locations within the state. The IT Department collaborated with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) under Dept. of Information Technology, Govt. of India, to set up Earth Stations. Five such Earth Stations were commissioned at different locations in the State. |

| To meet the requirement of STPI, Webel/IT Dept. arranged land of 3 acres for each Earth Stations and constructed the stations at the following locations: |

Besides the above, an Earth Station building at Haldia is under construction by Haldia Development Authority, which is expected to be commissioned very shortly.
As per recommendation of IT Dept. GoWB and Webel, 48 entrepreneurs were allotted land at Knowledge Corridor, Rajarhat, covering around 30 acres . However West Bengal has always been a land critical state. IT Hubs have the advantage of vertical growth in physical terms. Keeping in perspective the employment avenues that the IT/ ITeS sector is capable of generating, the state government has ensured the availability of built up space for quick deployment of manpower and commencement of operations in IT Hubs.
M/s. DLF Info City Developers Kolkata Ltd. in collaboration with Webel has developed around 1.3 million sq.ft. of state-of-the-art infrastructure for the IT/ITES companies, on a 10 acres plot of land at Rajarhat New Town. The building is fully in operation and is the career platform for approximately 15,000 young professionals |

| Unitech has also constructed an IT habitat in Rajarhat New Town, named Infospace - a state-of-the-art infrastructure which houses several IT/ ITeS companies of repute viz. Genpact, Capgemini |

The Govt. has taken a series of initiatives to create IT /ITeS SEZ Projects & Hubs, some in partnership with builders of repute viz. M L Dalmiya, Shapoorji. |

Pallonji & Enfield exports in the Rajarhat New Town area, in order to meet the increasing demands of the IT / ITeS industry. |

Webel & the IT Dept. GoWB is in the process of acquiring around 330 acres of land in Jagadishpur Mouza, adjacent to Rajarhat New Town for development of an independent IT Hub. |
