| Incorporated in 1974 with an objective of developing electronics industry in the State of West Bengal, the corporation through its subsidiary companies was in the business of manufacturing various electronics components and equipments viz. Quartz Crystals, Electrolytic Capacitors, Carbon and Metal Film Resistors, B&W Picture Tubes, electronically driven tools, thyristor controlled AC Drives, studio and broadcasting equipment, Television Sets, Tran receivers, Electronic Telephone Exchanges and EPBTs etc. |

Webel also executed prestigious turnkey projects viz. Toll Collection system at Vidyasagar Setu, Kolkata, Security Systems of Metro Railway, Kolkata, Automatic Message Switching System of the Tribhuvan International Airport, Nepal etc. Besides manufacturing activities Webel has commenced infrastructural development activities for the electronics industry and in this venture the Taratala Industrial Estate and the Salt Lake Electronics Complex took shape. |
